Certification

Accompanying certification processes are an important aspect of newly developed hydrogen technologies. They ensure that devices and systems comply with applicable norms and standards, thus enabling broad roll-out. Certification of hydrogen-powered devices and systems is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of these technologies and to place them successfully on the market. Therefore, HyCentA, in cooperation with its stakeholders, accompanies the process of certification of hydrogen-powered devices and systems to meet various aspects such as performance, safety, environmental impact and conformity according to national and international standards such as ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).

Our goal is to improve the safety of hydrogen as an energy carrier and to ensure that industry and society can take advantage of the benefits of this renewable energy carrier without risk. We understand that safety is a key component in the introduction of new technologies. For this reason, we specialise in conducting research in the field of hydrogen safety and gathering a wide range of knowledge on the safe handling of hydrogen. Our research centre has state-of-the-art facilities that allow our researchers to conduct tests in a safe and controlled environment. We conduct experiments to understand the behaviour of hydrogen in different scenarios, to identify risks and to develop strategies to reduce risks. We work closely with government, industry and other research organisations to ensure that our work has practical benefits and raises safety standards in the industry. If you are interested in the future of hydrogen energy and the safety of hydrogen handling, we invite you to visit our research centre and learn more about our work. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to create a safer future for all.
